Cheltenham Gold Cup winner War of Attrition has been named as Irish racing's Horse of the Year. Trained by 'Mouse' Morris and ridden by Conor O'Dwyer, he led first-ever Gold Cup 1-2-3 for Irish-trained horses.
War of Attrition went on to a string of home turf triumphs, culminating in the Guinness Gold Cup at Punchestown.

Racing's 2006 National Hunt Award for the third successive year, while Declan McDonagh took the Flat Award.
The Outstanding Achievement Award went to Niall 'Slippers' Madden, who romped home on Numbersixvalverde in the Grand National in April.
"We are witnessing a golden era of unprecedented success in Irish racing," Ireland's sports minister, John O'Donoghue, said at the presentation of the awards in Dublin.
