Top Irish jockey Conor O'Dwyer was in Lisburn on Tuesday to offically launch Down Royal Racecourse's two-day November Festival of Racing. In its eighth year, the event attracts top class horses from both Ireland and the UK and almost 500,000 Euro in prize money will be for grabs this year.
Last year's second day had to be abandoned because of a bomb scare.
This year's event is on 3/4 November and the big race will be the Grade One James Nicholson Chase on the Saturday.
Also complementing the line-up is the Anglo Irish Hurdle Race which has been upgraded to a Grade 3 Race with 50,000 Euro in prize money to be won.
Down Royal Racecourse manager Mike Todd said that the festival is "for everyone from the racing aficionado to the social setter".
"With champagne bars, best dressed competitions and of course great racing, it's an event not to be missed," said Mr Todd.
"This year we are expecting more first-time race goers than ever, so the pressure is definitely on to deliver the best November festival yet."
