Follow the 2006 John Smith's Grand National meeting with the BBC on TV, radio, online and Ceefax.

Racing's big meeting runs from Thursday 6 April to Saturday 8 April.

From a preview of the big race to extensive live coverage and expert analysis, the BBC will be there every step of the way.

All 15 races screened live on BBC TV will also be shown live for UK users on the BBC Sport website.

TELEVISION

Clare Balding and Sue Barker lead coverage of the big meeting, which culminates in the 159th running of the world's most famous steeplechase.

The BBC is again host broadcaster for the event, providing live coverage for TV channels across the world. The BBC's 52-camera operation includes 'Rider-cams' on three jockeys, as well as cameras mounted on four of the fences.

Joining Sue and Clare will be the BBC's chief race commentator Jim McGrath, who can call on the expertise of Ian Bartlett, Darren Owen and Tony O'Hehir for the big race.

Former jockeys Richard Pitman, Peter Scudamore and Norman Williamson provide expert analysis, with betting guru Angus Loughran keeping a check on all the latest odds.

And the reporting team of Rishi Persad and special guest John Parrott will follow the major stories around the course.

Saturday's 'Grand National Grandstand' begins with coverage from Aintree at 1300 BST on BBC One.

The night before, there is a preview of the big race from 2335 on BBC Two.

The show focuses on the winners and the losers of the great race - including interviews with racing greats Tony McCoy, John Francome, Ruby Walsh and Peter Scudamore.

If you miss any of the action there is a chance to watch the race again at midnight on Saturday in our Grand National highlights show.

Meanwhile, a regional perspective is offered through the North West Tonight TV programme, which will be coming live from Aintree on Thursday and Friday.

They will have a special feature on legendary trainer Ginger McCain and will offer a behind-the-scenes look at preparations for the big day.

Commentary on 11 races at the three-day meeting will be provided by BBC Five Live.

Luke Harvey will be providing racing reports during the Breakfast programme at 0655, 0755 and 0855.

There will be live commentaries in the afternoon of all three days of the meeting, while on the big day anchorman Mark Pougatch will oversee a Sport on Five programme where the team includes racing correspondent Cornelius Lysaght.

The Five Live commentary team is headed by John Hunt with Dougie Fraser, Peadar Flanagan and Matt Hill all pitching in.

Throughout the meeting, BBC Radio Merseyside (95.8FM) will be on hand with news and information.
