Tuesday's Cheltenham tips
Cornelius
By Cornelius Lysaght
BBC racing correspondent

Although the Noel Meade-trained Sweet Wake has been much talked about in the build-up to the Supreme Novices' Hurdle (1400), there has to be a question mark over how good he really is when the chips are down.

He has not had a hard challenging run yet and there is a strong suspicion that he has no reserve when he is put under pressure.

Voy Por Ustedes has had some impressive form this season

If that is the case, Noland might be the one to take advantage and give trainer Paul Nicholls and jockey Ruby Walsh the perfect start to the Festival.

He has looked impressive in his runs so far, performing consistently, with three wins in his last three races.

In the Arkle Trophy (1435), French-bred horses have a tremendous record, with five wins in the last 11 years, and I think Alan King's Voy Por Ustedes could take all the beating.

This year's Arkle is a very strong race - possibly one of the best of the week - and there are around five or six possible future champions on show.

I think the two miles could be too short for Henrietta Knight's Racing Demon and I will be holding my breath that Accordion Etoile gets around the course, while Missed That is also prone to making errors.

TUESDAY'S TIPS
1400: Noland
1435: Voy Por Ustedes
1515: Brave Inca
1600: A Glass In Thyne
1640: Good Step
1720: Artist's Muse

Voy Por Ustedes and the French-trained Foreman, who was a top hurdler before his switch to chasing, could be the two to fight it out at the finish, with the former getting the nod.

Alan King has brought Voy Por Ustedes on this year and he looked impressive last time out at Wincanton.

In the Champion Hurdle (1515), the partnership between Brave Inca and Tony McCoy should prove profitable.

The horse responds superbly to McCoy, which was shown to good effect in their impressive win in the AIG Champion Hurdle at Leopardstown last time out, and I don't think the others will be able to respond.

There's no reason to think that Macs Joy can get ahead of Brave Inca and although Hardy Eustace likes Cheltenham and this time of year, his preparations have not been the smoothest.

A Glass in Thyne is definitely one to have a tentative bet on in the William Hill Trophy (1600) and should be good value.

Trained by Ben Pollock, the horse is being aimed at the Grand National but impressed in his win last time out at Southwell.

Although he is a fragile horse, he is in fine form and looks a good bet in a competitive race.
