Fall sidelines jockey Fitzgerald
Mick Fitzgerald
Fitzgerald won the Grand National in 1996
Mick Fitzgerald will be sidelined for six weeks after breaking a shoulder blade in a fall at Market Rasen.

The Irish jockey was airlifted to Lincoln County Hospital after tumbling from Celtic Boy at Saturday's meeting.

"I won't know exactly how long I'll be out until I've seen a specialist," he told the Racing Post, although he estimated his absence at six weeks.

"I was very lucky because it was a nasty fall but it's part of the job," the 35-year-old added.

Fitzgerald has won most of jump racing's top prizes, including the Cheltenham Gold Cup, the Grand National, the Queen Mother Champion Chase and the King George VI Chase.
