Rule of Law has already enjoyed a successful season |
The John Gosden-trained colt Percussionist will miss Saturday's St Leger after suffering a slight setback. The horse, who is owned by the Sangster family, was fourth in the Derby at Epsom but disappointed in the Irish equivalent on his last start.
"His white cell count is high so he will not run but hopefully the problem can be rectified over the weekend," said Ben Sangster
Godolphin's ante-post favourite Rule Of Law heads a field of 10 for the race.
The horse, who will be partnered by Australian jockey Kerrin McEvoy, is currently priced at around 2-1.
He was an impressive winner of the Great Voltigeur Stakes last time out and will be hoping for another success, despite the step up in trip.
Quiff, the impressive 11-length winner of the Yorkshire Oaks and general second-favourite, has been declared despite worries over the drying ground on Town Moor.
The horse, who is trained by Sir Michael Stoute and will be the mount of Kieren Fallon, is bidding to be the first filly since User Friendly in 1992 to win the world's oldest Classic.
Connections had been hoping for some rain or that some watering would be done on the track but John Sanderson, chief executive at the track, is not planning to water.
Stoute, who is seeking his first St Leger win, also saddles Maraahel.
