Kieren Fallon claimed his second Vodafone Derby win with victory aboard Kris Kin.
Back in 1999, Fallon triumphed on the Henry Cecil-trained Oath.
But soon after, the trainer and jockey went their separate ways after tabloid newspaper stories concerning Cecil's wife.
Fallon won his first champion jockey title in 1997 and then went on to win the next two.
His winning run was only halted by a career-threatening shoulder injury at the 2000 Royal Ascot meeting.
On his return, Fallon was criticised for not being the force of old.
He responded by reclaiming the champion jockey's crown in the next two seasons.
The 2001 term ended with a shock as he announced his retainer with trainer Sir Michael Stoute was to end.
Some owners seemingly preferred other riders, although Stoute has continued to book Fallon as illustrated by Kris Kin's win.
The Irish rider checked into a clinic in January to deal with a drink problem but has returned to the saddle with seemingly no ill effects.
