Trainers Ferdy Murphy and Jamie Osborne have been hit with disrepute charges by the Jockey Club.

Fellow trainer David Wintle also has to answer questions relating to the running of a horse and alleged "violent or improper conduct" towards television reporter Paul Kenyon.

The allegations surround the BBC documentary programme Kenyon Confronts, broadcast in June.

Murphy and Osbourne have been informed by the Jockey Club of impending disciplinary proceedings and Murphy has said he would fight the charges laid against him.

It is not yet clear when the disciplinary hearings will take place but Jockey Club spokesman John Maxse confirmed that each trainer's hearing can take place separately.

In the programme, former jockey Osborne was approached by people purporting to be considering buying a horse from him.

He was quoted as saying he would be prepared to "cheat" and that he knew of an in-house jockey who could be used to that effect.

Murphy was recorded claiming that �1,600 had been made on the defeat of his horse, Christiansted, at Fakenham in February with bets laid on betting exchanges.

The pair later said their remarks had been taken out of context.

Wintle was seen by viewers tussling with Paul Kenyon during a race meeting at Stratford.

He will also be quizzed in connection with races at Warwick and Fontwell in March this year when Seattle Alley, the gelding undercover reporters bought and raced three times from his stable, finished 13th and eighth respectively.

He could face trouble if it is proved his instructions to the rider were not in accordance with the rules of racing.
