England beat Irish in qualifiers
Four goals from Richard Mantell gave England a 5-1 victory
Richard Mantell scored four goals against Ireland
Four goals from Richard Mantell helped England to a 5-1 win over Ireland on the opening day of the World Cup qualifiers in China on Wednesday.

The Reading set-piece specialist scored them all from penalty corners with Ben Hawes netting England's other goal from the penalty spot.

John Jermyn scored Ireland's goal, winning a penalty corner and powering a shot past Jon Ebsworth.

The top five of the 12 teams will go through to September's World Cup.

Ierland, at 22nd ranked lowest of the participating nations, play Canada on Thursday while England take on Egypt.
