England internationals Jon Ebsworth and Crista Cullen have been named UK players-of-the-year for 2005. Surbiton's Ebsworth won the men's award having established himself as England's number one goalkeeper following 2003 winner Simon Mason's retirement.
Leicester defender Cullen earned the women's prize having also been nominated for the World Hockey young player award in November.
The 20-year-old helped Leicester claim last season's league and cup double.
Runners-up for the men's player of the year awards were England and Amsterdam defender Ben Hawes and Cannock's penalty corner specialist Simon Ramsden, who made his international debut last season.
For the women, runners-up were last year's winner Tina Cullen, the Bowdon Hightown player-coach and former England international, and 2003 holder Kate Walsh, the England captain and Slough defender.
