Parker bids for medal success

Lincolnshire horse rider Emily Parker is hopeful of winning a medal at the Young Rider European Championships in the Czech Republic.

The 20-year-old from Market Rasen is representing Great Britain at the championships with her horse Treefers.

Parker rode the horse to team gold at the competition in Belgium last year.

She told BBC Lincolnshire: "Hopefully I'll be a bit more clued up this time so I can get a better individual place as well as a team medal."

British eventers have won team gold at the past five Young Rider European Championships and won three individual gold medals in the past four years.

Regional Foundation Squad co-ordinator David Hamer added: "This is a fantastic achievement for Emily, who has worked hard to achieve her place on this team."
