Three members of the same family will represent Britain for the first time in showjumping history at next month's European Championships in Germany. Brothers John and Michael Whitaker and their niece Ellen have all been named in the team for the event which takes place at Mannheim from 14-19 August.
David McPherson and Tim Stockdale make up the rest of the five-strong team.
The Championships offer Britain a final chance to qualify as a team for the 2008 Olympics.
Germany, Holland, Ukraine and Switzerland have already qualified for Hong Kong, where the Olympic events will be held, and further team places will be available to the three highest-placed finishers in Germany.
