Brown will be competing at the Commonwealth Games |
Great Britain's archers won 10 medals including four golds, at the Para-archery European Championships in France. Danielle Brown won the compound mixed team competition with John Stubbs before defeating compatriot Pippa Britton in the women's compound final. Kay Lucas won the women's recurve after a 6-4 victory over Eliane Salden-Otten of the Netherlands. Paul Browne completed the golden haul in the recurve W2 event. It was a second medal of the competition for Browne, who won silver in the men's team recurve event along with Kenny Allen and Phillip Bottomley. The men's compound team of Stubbs, John Murray and Eric Thomas missed out on the gold by just a point, losing 213-212 to Switzerland, while Stubbs was bronze medallist in the individual compound event. Allen and Kate Murray finished as runners-up in the mixed recurve while Brown and Britton teamed up with Mel Clarke to reach the women's compound team final but they were beaten 218-215 by Russia. It is a busy time for Brown who was recently selected as part of the England able-bodied squad for October's Paralympic Games in Delhi. "I'm having a wonderful summer, and winning here is another great honour for me," she said. "I hope I can continue this form right up to Delhi."
