Buesnel is a member of the British Gymnastics Disabilities Squad |
Two promising Jersey gymnasts have received grants from SportsAid to help fund their progress in the sport. Samantha Godel and Alex Buesnel have both been awarded £1,000 by the charity to assist with their expenses. The talented duo are currently British Open Champions and members of the British Gymnastics Disabilities Squad. British coach John Grady said: "It was their proven track record of achievement alongside their dedication that has led to this recognition." He added: "They have already had tremendous success as gymnasts but potentially there is still a lot to come. "The funding will be an enormous help in Sam and Alex reaching their future goals at the World Games in Athens and as members of the British Gymnastics Disabilities Squad." SportsAid has funded many of the United Kingdom's most successful athletes over the past 31 years, including Olympic gold medallists Steve Redgrave, Kelly Holmes and Chris Hoy.
