Britain's Paralympic swimmers won four medals on day two of the World Short Course Championships in Brazil.

Stephanie Millward and Claire Cashmore won gold and silver in their 200m individual medley, while Natalie Jones was third in her 50m butterfly.

Sam Hynd, who lowered the world record in the heat of his 100m individual medley, took bronze in the final after missing his first turn.

"I'm pleased to have a gold under my belt," said Millward.

"I wasn't feeling well earlier but I knew I just had to get in there and do it.

It was the Swansea-based 28-year-old's second medal of the meeting after a bronze in the 100m butterfly on Sunday.

"I was slightly disappointed with the butterfly, but it made me hungry for success today," she added.

Jones broke the British record in her event as Russia's Anastasia Diodorova set a new world record in claiming gold.

But Hynd had to dig deep over the final 25m moving from fifth place to third behind Australian duo Peter Leek and Blake Cochrane.
