Tom Aggar (Rowing): Started rowing in 2005 after a spinal injury and won the inaugural men's single sculls in Beijing. He followed that up with his second consecutive world championship gold in Poznan last weekend
Jody Cundy (Cycling): Former swimmer who won double gold in the velodrome in Beijing. Earlier this year became the fastest solo Paralympian of all time with a sub 11-second 200m at the Manchester Velodrome
Dave Weir (Athletics): Britain's top wheelchair racer who two golds over 800 and 1500m in Beijing and who will be eager for more success on home soil in 2012
Ellie Simmonds (Swimming): One of the stars of the GB team in Beijing, winning two golds aged 13 and has continued her success this year ahead of October's European Championship in Iceland
David Smith (Boccia): Was part of the gold medal winning team in Beijing. The 20-year-old won individual European gold and team silver earlier this summer in Portugal to underline his potential
Danielle Brown (Archery): Went to Beijing as world compound champion and added Paralympic gold to her list of titles. Recently retained her world title but is being pushed hard by compatriots Mel Clarke and Pippa Britton
Heather Frederiksen (Swimming): Was told she would never swim again after an accident but proved everyone wrong with a gold, two silvers and a bronze in Beijing and has set more World and European records in 2009
Ben Rushgrove (Athletics): Won silver in the T36 100m in Beijing with a broken foot which ruled him out of the 200m. Has returned to form this year with an impressive display at the BT Paralympic World Cup in Manchester
Sophie Wells (Para Dressage): Missed out on Beijing but won three golds for Great Britain at the recent European Championships in Norway as GB continued their dominance of the sport
