Laurens had a good weekend at Hickstead |
Jersey dressage rider Simon Laurens is waiting to hear if he will be selected to represent Great Britain at this summer's Paralympic Games. Laurens won his class and beat three-times Paralympic medallist Debbie Criddel at the trials at Hickstead over the weekend. Laurens got the second highest percentage points over the entire event as he won his section. "I think I'm feeling quite confident," he told BBC Spotlight Channel Islands. Laurens is the reigning World Para Dressage champion after winning the title at Hartpury College last year. He now has to wait for around 10 days until the squad for the Paralympic equestrian events is announced. Despite being part of the Beijing Games the equestrian section is being held in Hong Kong.
