Phillipson is aiming for a place at next year's Beijing Paralympics

Phillipson, 18, defeated 12-time national champion Jayant Mistry in straight sets 7-6 6-1.

The match ended Mistry's unbeaten run against British players which goes back to 1994.

Whiley, 15, fought back from a set down to defeat second seed Susan Paisley 4-6 6-2 6-3.

The Halesowen teenager then went on to complete a hat-trick of wins for the second successive year with victories in the women's doubles and junior singles finals.

She teamed up with fellow teenager Louise Hunt to defeat Paisley and Debbie Thomas 6-3 7-6 (7-3) and then beat Hunt in the junior decider.

Phillipson, who is ranked just outside the world's top 30, had to battle hard in the first set of the men's decider against Mistry, who is still Britain's top-ranked player.

Mistry officially announced his retirement from international competition in July after a series of persistent injuries, but is now rounding off his career with a series of domestic appearances before the end of the 2007 season.

But Phillipson became the first Briton to defeat Mistry since former national champion and former British number one Chris Illingworth 13 years ago.

Mistry gained some revenge in the men's doubles final, partnering Kevin Plowman to a 6-4 6-4 win over Scottish duo Gordon Reid and Kevin Simpson.
