British quartet set new records
Sascha Kindred
Kindred was among GB's Paralympic gold medallists
Swimmers Sascha Kindred, Liz Johnson, Giles Long and Rhiannon Henry were all in record breaking form at the US Paralympic Championships in Portland.

Kindred bettered his own SM6 200m IM record by 0.3 of a second, clocking two minutes 49.30 seconds.

Johnson improved her SB6 200m breaststroke mark by over five seconds.

Long knocked over four seconds off the S8 200m butterfly best while Henry beat the S13 200m butterfly standard by over 23 seconds.

The four records were among a host of impressive performances for the 14-strong British team.

Kindred also claimed gold in the S6 50m butterfly while Johnson was victorious in the SB6 100m backstroke and Henry also won the S13 50m freestyle and 100m butterfly.

There was double success for Andrew Lindsay who triumphed in the S7 100m backstroke and the 400m freestyle.

Among the other GB victors were Gareth Duke (S6 50m free), Matthew Walker (S7 50m free), Sarah Bailey (SM10 200m IM), Dave Roberts (S7 100m freestyle), Natalie Jones (S6 50m butterfly) and Jody Cundy (S10 100m butterfly).
