Burrett is trying to balance work and play |
If representing Britain in an international event was not stressful enough, basketballer Sarah Burrett has to contend with exams as well. The 21-year-old had to disappear off between games earlier this week to do an three-hour exam for her university degree in Business and Sport Science.
"We played Sweden, then I just went upstairs, did a test and came back down and played against Spain," she said.
As one of GB's top-scorers, Burrett is showing no signs of exam fatigue.
World Cup Diary is pleased to report some good news at last as finally the mystery of the lost limb has been solved.
A prosthetic arm had been lying around next to the press seats at the wheelchair basketball for the past few days.
But the owner, a journalist for a Christian news agency, has come forward to claim the appendage. However, this is not the first time it has happened.
"Yeah, I tend to leave it places," he told the Diary. "Once I actually left it behind on a trip to Japan."
The Paralympic World Cup has entertained some famous faces over the past few days, including Prince Edward, Sophie Wessex and John Amaechi.
So it was no surprise to see Cherie Blair, wife of Prime Minister Tony, make an appearance at Manchester Aquatics Centre at the weekend.
Cherie looked to be enjoying herself as Britain's swimmers claimed five wins and Natalie du Toit grabbed three golds.
She even got her feet wet by dishing out a few medals at the victory ceremonies.
