Troye Collins once again led the Great Britain scoring |
Great Britain retained their European wheelchair rugby title after a hard fought 28-26 win over Germany in Sunday's final in Denmark. GB were 15-14 down at half-time against a German side who they had beaten in Saturday's final pool game.
But they edged narrowly ahead late in the third quarter and held on in the final period to secure a thrilling win.
Troye Collins scored 13 goals and was named one the most valuable players of the tournament. Allan Ash hit eight.
"We played poorly in the first half and made a couple of unforced errors which gave Germany the incentive," said coach Darren Ransome.
"But we came out strongly in the second half and played well and we're delighted to have come away with the win."
Sweden clinched the bronze medal after a 31-30 win over Denmark in another close encounter.
Highlights from the tournament will be shown on Sunday Grandstand on BBC2 at 1330 on Sunday 30 October.
