 Woods has enjoyed a successful campaign on the road |
David Weir and Shelly Woods repeated their successes of the Great North Run with victories in Sunday's Great South Run in Portsmouth. Weir finished in 35 minutes 15 seconds, well over two minutes ahead of Tushar Patel, with the 2004 winner Kenny Herriot back in third.
Woods became the first winner of the women's race, clocking a time of 44:01 over the 10-mile course.
Weir and Woods are now set to compete in next month's New York Marathon.
