Scotland begin defence with win
Defending champions Scotland got off to a good start at the World Wheelchair Curling Championships at Braehead with a 10-2 win over newcomers Japan.

Denmark survived a late fightback by Russia to claim an 8-4 win.

England made a strong start against Wales before being pegged back, but went on to win 5-3.

The other game was won on an extra end, with Norway beating the USA 6-5, while Korea, Switzerland, Canada and Sweden also took victories.

The Swiss, last year's runners-up, beat newcomers Poland 14-1, while Korea crushed Italy 10-0.

Canada beat rookies Germany 5-2 and the Swedes downed Bulgaria 6-3.
