Stars of the future scoop awards
The nation's most promising young disabled athletes were honoured at a special awards ceremony this week.

Winners at the Nationwide Junior Sports Awards in Manchester included world record-holder Rachael Latham and fellow swimmer Sam Chamberlain.

Laura Giddings, Shaun Potts, Francesca Digiorgio, Nathan Stephens, Clarissa Hustler and Ben Sneesby were also hailed as stars of the future.

The event, held on Tuesday evening, was organised by Disability Sport England.

Many of Britain's top Paralympians from Athens, including Sarah Bailey, Nyree Lewis, Sacha Kindred, Matthew Walker and Debbie Brennan, were on hand to congratulate the juniors on their outstanding achievements over the year.

Wigan-based Latham recently achieved a world record in the DSE National Short Course Swimming Championships at just 15 years old.
