Great Britain wheelchair basketball star Jon Pollock is considering his international future after helping the side to a Paralympic bronze medal. "I've dreamed of winning a Paralympic medal for the last 12 years," said the 27-year-old, who hit 31 points in the play-off against the Dutch.
"And to do it in what I think will be my last international is fantastic.
"After all of the hard work over the last four years, it would have been an injustice not to win a medal."
Pollock made his debut aged just 15 but after a shaky start in Athens he proved to be a key figure in downing the Netherlands.
"I felt good in the warm-up and all my shots were dropping but the rest of the team worked so hard to get the openings for me," said Pollock.
"It was hard to raise my game again because someone pointed out that I was second in the statistics for turnovers, which isn't a good one but I was told to ignore that and just go out and that's what I did." Pollock's team-mate Ade Adepitan, who also missed out on bronze four years ago, was also overjoyed to win a medal this time around.
"It is an amazing feeling to come away with a medal - it is what you dream of," the BBC Sport columnist explained.
"We started the tournament badly with the two losses which upset us and we knew we would have to pull together.
"We didn't want to lose against the Dutch and we were really calm and focused because we knew we had to raise our game and to do it is fantastic."
