Darren Kenny added a silver cycling medal to his golden double at the Athens Paralympics on Monday. The Bournemouth athlete took second spot in the CP3 individual road race and time trial.
Kenny went into the time trial in second place after the road race which had been won by Spain's Javier Oxtoa.
The Briton scorched to first place in the time trial, beating Oxtoa by a massive 30 seconds, but it was not enough to steal gold from the Spaniard.
Kenny finished with a combined time of one hour, 18.04 minutes - just five seconds adrift of Oxtoa's overall time.
"I thought I still had a chance to make gold today," said Kenny.
"I gave it everything I had and more, but five seconds won gold for him."
The 34-year-old, who won his first Paralympic title in the1km time trial, had beaten the Spainard to take gold in the 3km individual pursuit.
And Kenny, who only started racing for Great Britain two years ago, admits the Games have been an overwhelming experience.
"It's been special," he added. "I came here to win medals, but the standards have been quite incredible."
Elsewhere, Gary Williams finished in fifth place overall in the LC1 individual road race and time trial.
Williams clocked 24.24 minutes in Monday's time trial to record a combined time of two hours, 39.05 minutes.
Ian Sharpe and pilot Paul Hunter finished in 13th place overall in the men's B1-3 tandem event.
The duo came eighth in the time trial but their chances had been ruined by a puncture in the road race.
