Great Britain's hopes of gold in the Paralympic wheelchair basketball came to an end when they were beaten 64-52 by Australia in their semi-final. GB stayed in touch early on but trailed 32-28 at the break after scores from Brad Ness and Justin Eveson.
Australia pulled clear to lead 49-38 by the end of the third quarter and never looked back, Ness scoring 31 points.
Britain will face the Netherlands, who lost to Canada in the other semi-final, in Tuesday's bronze medal play-off.
GB coach Dave Titmuss knows he must raise his side's spirits for the game to ensure they do not miss out on bronze again, as they did in Sydney four years ago.
"Our defence was excellent out there but offensively we didn't execute well," said Titmuss.
"There was a lot of nerves around in the opening quarter although I felt we had prepared well.
"But the third quarter where Australia pulled ahead was the crucial time of the game and I think we were guilty of getting loose defensively. "When we got it back to five points and we were pressing, they just seemed to get the lucky breaks.
"But we are still in with a strong chance of the bronze. Our defence is good but we just need to be better defensively."
GB player Ade Adepitan added: "This was a very tough match and the semi-final is a game you really don't want to lose.
"We weren't firing on all cylinders and couldn't get Simon Munn into the game. We needed him to score 20 points to put us in with a good chance.
"But we need to get ourselves refocused and keep our heads up for the bronze medal game."
