Graham Edmunds became the second member of the British Paralympic swimming team to mark his birthday with a gold medal.
Edmunds, who celebrated his 30th birthday on Wednesday, helped the 34 point 4x100m freestyle relay team to a thrilling victory in a new world record time.
He follows in the footsteps of Nyree Lewis, who won the S6 100m backstroke on Tuesday, her 24th birthday.
But Edmunds admitted afterwards that his efforts to help the team to glory had left him exhausted.
"I'm so shattered that I think I would collapse under the weight of the gold medal if it was put around my neck now," he revealed to BBC Sport straight after the race.
But thankfully, Edmunds recovered his strength for the medal ceremony later where along with Robert Welbourn, Matt Walker and David Roberts, he proudly received his medal.
Tandem cyclists Ian Sharpe and Paul Hunter clearly make a good team after they won their second medal of the Paralympics in the B1-3 1km tandem time trial.
And they both play to each other's strengths.
"Paul deserves a lot of credit for dragging me around the track," admitted Sharpe, who had won eight Paralympic swimming medals before switching to the bike for Athens.
But Hunter, whose wife Ellen won gold and silver as pilot to Aileen McGlynn, played down his significance after the race.
"All I had to do was steer," he said.
The samba beats rocked the Olympic indoor hall on Wednesday night for the men's basketball clash between Brazil and Great Britain.
A vociferous crowd got into the game and there were plenty of Brazilian flags and Union Jacks on show among the eager spectators.
Some Paralympic volunteers even got in on the action and danced to the Latin beat.
But GB top scorer Jon Pollock revealed that the players were keyed up for the game as well.
"When we were in the tunnel beforehand, the Brazilians were all pumped up and they were like 12 hooligans," was Pollock's unique description of the pre-match hype.
"But you can't out-hooligan British people and we went out there and showed them."
