Newstead has put in some hard work ahead of the Games
Great Britain's Isabel Newstead picked up another Paralympic gold after successfully retaining her women's SH1 air pistol title on Sunday.

Newstead finished with a score of 466.8 but was pushed all the way by Lin Chin Mei of Chinese Taipei, who finished on 465.1 in a tense final.

The 49-year-old was the leading qualifier after a score of 371 put her four points ahead of the field.

And Newstead held her nerve to secure her ninth Paralympic gold medal.

"I've never worked so hard to win a gold," a delighted Newstead admitted afterwards.

"I wasn't shooting well all through the competition and to come away with a result like that is very satisfying.

"I was very nervous but I kept telling myself that this is what I do and all the training I put in has paid off."
