Norfolk lived up to his favourite status in San Diego
Top seed Peter Norfolk has won the US Open wheelchair tennis championship.

The world number one stormed to a 6-1 6-0 win over unseeded Israeli Haim Lev in the Quad Main Draw Singles final on Sunday.

The victory in San Diego was Norfolk's third Super Series title following his win at the tournament in 2001 and his British Open victory earlier this year.

It is also the Briton's fifth tour title from his last six tournaments this year.

In the men's main draw, Australian David Hall won the 13th Super Series title of his career with 4-6 6-3 6-3 triumph over Holland's Robin Ammerlaan.

It was the top seed's seventh US Open victory. He also has five British Open titles and this year's Australian Open title among his other Super Series wins.

Britain's hopes of success in the main draw ended when fourth seed Jayant Mistry lost to Japan's Shingo Kunieda in the quarter-finals.
