Newcastle-under-Lyme star Phil Taylor has been compared to other sporting greats such as tennis' world number one Roger Federer and golf's Tiger Woods.

Taylor is preparing for the UK Open in Bolton next week having retained his Premier League title on Monday.

His manager Barry Hearn told BBC Radio Stoke: "Taylor's achievements don't get the same recognition that the top golfers and tennis players get."

Taylor latest win means he is in sight of becoming the world number one again.
