Leicester's Jamie Caven has booked his place in the second round of the PDC World Darts Championship with a 3-0 win over Wes Newton at Alexandra Palace. The 31-year-old qualifier will face three-time semi-finalist Wayne Mardle in Saturday's second round.
A delighted Caven thinks his gamble on turning professional has paid off.
He told BBC Radio Leicester: "Luckily I've qualified for the biggest event in the world and I've just got through the first game so I'm quite happy!"
