Taylor was the number one seed |
Stoke's Phil Taylor has crashed out of the Las Vegas Desert Classic V1 at the hands of Mark Dudbridge. The three-time champion and number one seed missed a crucial double six in the deciding leg with the the scores level at 5-5.
And Dudbridge - who had to battle through the qualifiers - held his nerve to nail double 18 with his final dart.
Taylor had battled back from 2-1 down to lead 3-2 and 5-4 only for Dudbridge to square the match at 5-5.
Taylor statred the final leg in style with a 180 and appeared to be in pole position with just 68 to close.
But he failed to get double 16 and Dudbridge - with 76 to hit - held his
nerve under pressure to claim victory.
