Taylor coasts past Lloyd in final
Phil Taylor
Taylor was the dominant force throughout Tuesday's final
Phil Taylor coasted to the simplest of wins in the final of the Premier League Darts Finals in Manchester.

Taylor, who has now been unbeaten in the league since 20 January, crushed world number one Colin Lloyd 16-4 in a one-sided final.

The 12-time world champion was a class apart from Lloyd at the GMex Centre.

"The score doesn't reflect the game, Colin missed crucial doubles but I think it's a case that some players bring out the best in me," said Taylor.

Taylor had looked set to miss the final after falling 11-7 down in the semi-final against Roland Scholten before a bright comeback.

And, despite hitting only five maximum's to Lloyd's five, Taylor never looked in danger of losing the final.

"I think what I did differently was to slow down and take my time," he said. "I'd had a good night's sleep and my back felt a little better and I think that made all the difference.

"After my performance against Roland I knew I would have to come out of the blocks firing and with those two early attempts at 170 I think Colin knew he was going to be in a tough match."
