Taylor's form in Dublin left his rivals scratching their heads |
Phil Taylor has targeted yet another world crown after winning his sixth World Grand Prix title in Dublin. 'The Power' demolished world number one and defending champion Colin Lloyd in
the final, clinching a 7-1 success.
Looking ahead, Taylor said: "I'd love to win 13 world titles - it's the date of my birthday and a lucky number.
"I've probably got as much ambition now as when I first started out. I'm very dedicated, willing to try different things, and work hard in practice."
Taylor's bid for Grand Slam glory was ended by John Part in the quarter-finals of the Stan James World Matchplay in July.
The PDC-organised Ladbrokes.com World gets under way at the Circus Tavern, Purfleet, in December.
Lloyd, 32, has vowed to bounce back in the PDC's premier event over the
Christmas and New Year period.
"Phil thrashed me and I don't mind admitting that - I give him all the respect he deserves," he said.
"But if you want to write me off for the world title, be it on your own head. My best form will come back - and when it does, watch out."
