Dean Downing back on podium in Exeter

Rapha Condor Sharp celebrate their win in Exeter

Round Four of the Halfords Tour Series in Exeter ended in a second consecutive win for Dean Downing.

Downing won at the Exeter event in 2009, and was in fine form again as he stormed to victory, helping his team Rahpa Condor Sharp take the team win.

The result means Rapha Condor Sharp move second in the overall standings, four points behind leaders Motorpoint.

The South West based Pendragon Le Col Colnago team finished in a disappointing seventh place.

Downing was one of three Rapha Condor Sharp riders who finished in the top five places on Thursday, with Zak Dempster (second) and Dean Windsor (fifth) also making a strong impression.

Second place in the team event went to Endura Racing, who had both Ian Wilkinson and Jack Bauer in the top five finishers.

Despite their poor result in Exeter, Pendragon Le Col Colnago only drop one place down the overall team standings into fourth.

The next round of the Halfords Tour Series is set to be held in Southport next Tuesday, 8 June.
