Wiggins will be one the favourites for the opening Giro time trial in Amsterdam
Bradley Wiggins will head a nine-man Team Sky squad for their Grand Tour debut at next month's Giro d'Italia.
The triple Olympic champion is among three Britons in the team for the 21-stage race, which begins in Amsterdam on 8 May and ends in Verona on 30 May.
Team principal Dave Brailsford said: "It is Team Sky's debut in a Grand Tour and another special moment for us."
The Giro is one of road cycling's three major Grand Tour events alongside the Tour de France and Vuelta a Espana.
Joining Wiggins will be British pair Steve Cummings and Chris Froome, who is expected to be fit for the start of the race despite crashing in Tuesday's prologue at the Tour de Romandie in Switzerland.
Former Barloworld rider Froome withdrew from the race after he suffered cuts and bruises in Porrentruy, opting to travel to Tuscany and recover in time for the Giro.
"To be ready for the Giro has been the big goal for me and I'm obviously going to be putting everything into that," said the 24-year-old.
Italians Dario Cioni and Morris Possoni, Australians Mathew Hayman and Chris Sutton, Canadian Michael Barry and New Zealander Greg Henderson complete the nine-man team.
The 93rd Giro opens up in the Netherlands with the 8.4km time-trial in Amsterdam, a stage which will suit clock specialist Wiggins.
The 30-year-old, who will miss the road World Championships to concentrate on the Commonwealth Games later this year, is one of the early candidates for the leader's pink jersey.
The Netherlands will host a further three stages before the race moves to Italy.
