Thousands lined the Champs-Elysees in Paris to watch the final stage of the Tour de France 2009 and amongst them was a large Manx contingent
Gavin Quayle and all his staff from Bikestyle on the Isle of Man were there to cheer Cav on to victory
Mark's dad was there to witness his son's record-breaking achievement and told BBC Isle of Man: "I couldn't be prouder, it's absolutely incredible what he has achieved in his career so far"
Shortly after crossing the line Mark told the BBC: "All along I said I wanted to go all the way to Paris and my team was so great in helping me do it."
The 24-year-old won six stages in total and added: "Every sprinter dreams of winning this stage, I couldn't be happier"

The Manx Express was pipped to the green points jersey by Norwegian Hushovd, who finished with 10 more points
Cavendish says that next year he will be out to win the green jersey: "Next year I'll be fitter and stronger and hopefully the green jersey will come with that"
The Manx rider finished 131st overall 3hrs 21mins 54secs down on the overall winner Alberto Contador
