Lance Armstrong is aiming for an eighth Tour de France win |
Lance Armstrong returns to bike racing in Europe this weekend for the first time since his seventh Tour de France win in 2005. The American will ride in the first one-day classic of the season, Milan-St Remo, as part of the Astana team. The 37-year-old has never earned a place on the podium in the event, but he always finished the 294km course, the longest in professional cycling. He is also set to race next week at the Tour of Castilla y Leon in Spain. The American called time on his career in 2005 but announced his return last September, saying he wanted to raise cancer awareness and with the goal of winning the 2009 Tour de France.
