Wiggins is targeting the Tour de France prologue in London |
Bradley Wiggins earned his first major time-trial win as a professional when he stormed to victory in the opening stage of the Four Days of Dunkirk race. The 27-year-old Englishman covered the 9km course in 10mins 39.2secs, 12secs faster than France's William Bonnet.
It is the second strong time-trial result for Wiggins, the Olympic and world pursuit champion, in a month.
The Cofidis rider finished second to Andreas Kloden in the Circuit de la Sarthe's prologue in April.

Wiggins, who claimed his second world pursuit title in March, is among the favourites for the Tour de France's prologue in Hyde Park, London, on 7 July.
Prior to Tuesday's victory in northern France, Wiggins, who has four Olympic medals to his name, had only ever won time-trial stages on the road in the Tour de France of the Future (for riders under 25) and the Circuit de Lorraine.
