Hamilton was sacked by Phonak after his positive test |
Cyclist Tyler Hamilton, whose two-year suspension for blood doping ended in September, has signed for Italian-based Russian team Tinkoff. The 35-year-old tested positive for a blood transfusion at the 2004 Tour of Spain, weeks after winning Olympic individual time trial gold.
Hamilton was allowed to keep his title because his B test was destroyed while being deep-frozen.
"I'm ready to make a comeback," he told the All Sport news agency.
"I can't wait to get back into some serious competition."
Tinkoff boss Oleg Tinkoff said the team's aim was to take part in next year's Giro d'Italia.
