Tyler Hamilton's appeal against a cycling ban for blood doping will now be heard on 10 January in Denver. A September hearing by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (Cas) was suspended because not all the evidence could be presented in time.
"The second hearing will allow Cas to terminate the evidentiary proceedings and to hear the closing submissions," said a statement by Cas.
Hamilton was suspended on 18 April by the American Arbitration Association.
The 2004 Olympic gold medalist has consistently denied any doping violation and has criticised the testing method used by UCI, cycling's international governing body.
He tested positive during the Tour of Spain in September 2004, a month after he won gold in the time trial at the Athens Olympics.
His initial blood sample in Athens also tested positive, but that case was dropped after his B sample was mistakenly frozen.
