Fassa Bortolo
TEAM FACTFILE
Alessandro Petacchi
Country: Italy
Team boss: Giancarlo Ferreti
Team leaders: Fabian Cancellara
Best Tour: 2002 - Ivan Basso seventh; Alessandro Petacchi - four stage wins
Fassa Bortolo will have one very clear goal in this year's race - for Fabian Cancellara to win the prologue.

They delivered that deal last year when the young Swiss rider stunned his rivals in Belgium.

Their other man goal - sprint wins through Alessandro Petacchi, though, have been ruled out after he opted out of the Tour.

After a superb Giro d'Italia he has chosen to hang up his lycra shorts, albeit temporarily.

Cancellara looks a talent for the future aside from his blistering prologue efforts, while Juan Antonio Flecha could sneak a stage win.

The legendary Giancarlo Ferreti is still at the head of the team and has been managing cycling teams since the 1970s.

He is renowned in the sport as a tactical genius.
