Di Luca takes victory in Amstel | | Italy's Danilo Di Luca of Liquigas won the Amstel Gold Race from Maastricht to Valkenburg, the only Dutch one-day classic in the Pro Tour series. Dutchman Michael Boogerd (Rabobank) was second and Italy's Mirko Clestino (Domina Vacanze) was third. Di Luca, who won the Tour of the Basque Country last week, held off his rivals in a sprint for the finish. It was Boogerd's third consecutive runner-up place having last won the 251km race in 1999.
