 Bradley Wiggins shows off his gold medal in Athens |
Olympic gold medallists Bradley Wiggins and Jason Queally have been selected for England's cycling team to compete at next year's Commonwealth Games. Wiggins took the individual pursuit in Athens in 2004 and Queally won gold in the 1km time trial at Sydney in 2000.
The 25-strong team for the Games in Melbourne includes Olympic, World and Commonwealth medallists.
The world champion team pursuit quartet of Steve Cummings, Rob Hayles, Paul Manning and Chris Newton are all named.
Victoria Pendleton, winner of the sprint title at this year's World Track Championships in California, returns to Commonwealth Games action in Melbourne, after just missing out on the medals in Manchester.
England's medal hopes in the mountain biking event rest with Liam Killeen who won bronze in Manchester in his first senior international event and finished fifth at last year's Olympics.
