Oscar Pereiro has signed a two-year contract with the Illes Balears team. The 28-year-old from Galicia, who turned pro in 2003, joins the Spanish outfit after being released from his contract with Phonak.
He will join Alejandro Valverde, Pablo Lastras and Vladimir Karpets as one of the leaders of the team.
Pereiro won the Classic of the Alps last year, and took victory in the 16th stage of the Tour de France in July. He finished 10th overall in Le Tour.
