The French team are the only wildcard invites to this year's race and will therefore be called upon to repay that faith by the organisers. And they certainly have the firepower for the occasional stage victory - whether that be in the sprints or on breakaway stages.
Jean-Patrick Nazon won one stage last year - the third - and was second on the final one on the Champs Elysees.
Added to that, they have a solid rider in Stephane Goubert - 20th last year.
Their team, though, has been rocked in the close season by the departure of arguably their two best riders - Laurent Brochard and Jaan Kirsipuu.
Their exits were mainly due to the team failing to win a spot on the new ProTour.
