 South American Botero is hitting form at just the right time |
Santiago Botero is emerging as a real threat to Lance Armstrong's bid for a seventh Tour de France title. The Colombian won the penultimate stage of the Dauphine Libere on Saturday to move second in the race standings.
Phonak rider Botero, who also won the time trial on Wednesday, is now 59 seconds adrift of race leader Inigo Landaluze with just one stage left.
Armstrong, who finished seventh on Saturday. is fourth in the standings, 1:47 behind Euskaltel rider Landaluze.
