 Christophe Brandt has been sacked by the Lotto team |
Lotto have sacked rider Christophe Brandt after dropping him from the Tour earlier in the week because of a positive drugs test. Brandt, who joined the team in 2001, tested positive for methadone last weekend, and was 75th in the race when he was excluded.
Methadone features on the list of banned products issued by the World Anti-Doping Agency.
The only exception is where a medical certificate proves its legitimate use.
