Welsh cyclist Julian Winn has accused the British Olympic Association of 'dragging up the past' after they cleared him of a doping ban. The BOA decided that an ephedrine offence committed by the 31-year-old three years ago was minor and his lifetime Olympic ban should be lifted.
"There was no need for an annoucement about this," Winn told the South Wales Argus. "I expected to be cleared.
"It's dragging up the past and I cannot see the logic in it."
Winn, a contender to ride alongside David Millar in the road race in Athens, will be competing in this weekend's Milk Ras, the Tour of Ireland.
It will be the Abergavenny cyclist's first race since breaking a finger in five places a month ago.
